About Desire I
Desire I is part of the Alchemy of Love series. This artwork plays with desires, thoughts and memories of an intimate encounter. The smoke from the incense burner simulates the sense of smell. A single eye looks out with deep desire, a clandestine behind the doors intimate moment. The sensual image of the naked lover, set behind the watery flow of emotions, contrasts with the metal background and the geometrical diagonal slopping squares symbolising social rules and expectations.
This artwork is from the Alchemy of Love Photography series which is a collection of photomontages that explore the mind's dreamy surrealist interpretation of the world of love and emotional relationships. The series brings together both photography, photo-painting and drawing and expresses the flow of thoughts and emotions.
